A lot of people have asked for pictures of my old '50 Chevy truck. The truck has been one of the most rewarding (and the most irritating) endeavor of my life.

I get enormous pleasure out of the fact that everyone who sees it smiles. I also enjoy opportunities to help kids and the needy with it whenever those opportunities come up.

Below are some pictures from 2009 that show the truck as it is now. There are some pictures in another area of the site (Projects Tab) that show it as it was when I started the "Overhaul" but these are the pics of what I now call "Blue Steel".

   The Stable. :)

We participated in the thanksgiving Day parade in Charlotte this year. We were helping an organization called DrumStrong who had planned on using their own 1952 truck but as it was being restored, the truck was stolen!

Sharon and I volunteered Ol' Blue to fill the void. Pictured below is the truck just prior to moving out with the main float. Sharon, Ben (my son) and I all had a great time. We carried two wonderful little girls in the back (one who is fighting cancer along with her sister) who enjoyed the ride and the parade along with us.

I have been trying to come up with an idea for step plates to put on my running boards. I had the traditional Chevy bow tie plates (retro) on for the last year or so but they just did not seem to fit. They also got to looking kind of bad and nothing I could do seemed to polish them back up.

I was looking at my bed (I lined it with diamond plate aluminum after thorough "Herculining") and a light bulb went off..

Why not get my friend Steve (who made my radiator and lined my bed with the aluminum) make me some step plates?!

So the rest is history..
